Well Happy Birthday to us, we are 7 years old today, we say this every year but it seems just like yesterday when Team Dignitas was formed in 2003. For those that do not know Team Dignitas was formed on 9th September 2003 with the merging of the two best Battlefield 1942 Clans, Legion Condor and Kompanix. This merge was initiated after talks between both clans after which both agreed that a merge would be the best option for the future. After well we kind of owned!

Happy 7th Birthday long

To celebrate our birthday we have several prizes to give away to our fans and all you need to do is leave a comment on this post. We have prizes from many of our sponsors including a Logitech G13EA Battlefield 1942 Anthology PCEA FIFA 11 and an Intel i5-750 Processor.

ESL LogoLast Thursday the weekly Starcraft II cup for the Scandinavian community, the ESL Viking Cup, could not be played due to a downtime of Blizzard's Battle.net. It was postponed to today and over 200 players have already signed up again, amongst them also the Swedish Team Dignitas player Jeffrey 'SjoW' Brusi. The likes of Satiini (Finland), MorroW and jimpo (both Sweden) will also take part in tonight's competition for the 100€ prize money, so as always it will not be an easy fight. It starts at 18:00 CET.

Our second Swedish Starcraft player Tim 'merz' Olsson will also not rest tonight as he has two very important matches to play in the ESL Intel Extreme Masters Swedish Qualifier. His two group stage games against his two fellow countrymen Leball and mofoo are on the plan and if he comes out victorious, he joins SjoW in the playoffs.

Wish both of our players the best of luck!

Update 2: SjoW manages to overcome jimpo (Sweden) in the Final and enter the final against MorroW (Sweden) which will be played out tomorrow night. It will be streamed by GLHF.TV again, so don't miss this epic best-of-seven!

Intel Extreme MastersTonight, at last, the qualifiers for the next Intel Extreme Masters season are kicking off for Starcraft II. This is the first ever IEM season including the popular new RTS game over the old Warcraft 3. A lot of prize money and the best gamers from Europe, North America and Asia will be in this competition, so qualifying for this is a dream come true for any Starcraft gamer out there.

While our two Swedes Jeffrey 'SjoW' Brusi and Tim 'merz' Olsson will play their first of two group stage matches tonight, Great Britain will see a lot more action happening this evening as the whole single elimination bracket is being played out with both Shaun 'Apollo' Clark and Marty 'PureBall' Rome participating. Do NOT miss this!

Update: PureBall came second in the UK qualifier but unfortunately the UK only received one slot, so our IEM hopes rest on SjoW's and merz's shoulders now.

Update: SjoW has played his last group stage qualifier match today and took the win which means he advances to the playoffs of the Swedish Intel Extreme Masters Qualifier.

Intel Game-On: iRacing review

In a recent article on the Intel Game-on site we see one of the Team Dignitas players, Steven 'Stune' Embling, publish an article about iRacing. Stune decided to review this popular online sim racing game and discuss the game's position in the current scene. He talks about the available content for beginners, about the game and even about the costs, be sure to check it out!

Intel Game-On: iRacing review

Steven 'Stune' Embling

"Racing games have come a long way in the last few years. New technology in track mapping, car modelling, driving physics, damage calculations, etc, have all added something extra to the virtual racing experience. Online gaming is another area which has been developing at break neck speed and it only seems right that the two should finally merge in an online only racing experience. I say finally, but the truth is iRacing has been around for a couple of years. Unless you are very well informed about racing sims however, there is a good chance you’ll never have heard of it. You won’t find it in the shops, or online stores, it can only be downloaded from iracing.com."

These two months are over and the winner turned out to be none other than Livia 'Liefje' Teernstra, renown eSports gamer and blogger! She won $5000 and an Alienware m11x laptop as main prize. Livia has been everywhere in eSports, from her own female team up to the CGS where she played as one of the Dead Or Alive female players. We decided to have a chat with Livia and ask her what it was like.

Where is everything?

You may have noticed the site is looking a bit sparse, this is because our original website (an old php project) had been the victim of a sustained attack and eventually penetrated.

The old code base was therefore found unfit for purpose and instead we have been building a new site in a new language / framework.

Content will come back, slowly but surely, so please bear with us while we bring our site back to it's former (and improved) glory.
