Hello, this is dignitas\merz speaking! This page is meant to work like a FAQ/Information page about my streaming schedule, those who are interested in coaching lessons, and stuff like that.

Who I am and my achievements so far
My name is Tim Olsson and I’m a 22 year old Swede, currently residing in Umeå, Sweden. I’m originally from Stockholm, and ended up in Umeå due to getting accepted into Law School here. I’ve been playing SC2 since the release of the beta, and I’ve been with Team Dignitas as a professional SC2 player since August 2010. Before SC2 and Dignitas I played Starcraft:Brood War for almost 9 years, on and off.

I never tried to go pro in SC:BW because it was pretty much dead within Europe/NA and was only big in Korea. But I did however play the game at a high level for foreign standard: I represented the Swedish national team in Nation wars, played in the highest foreign clan leagues such as WGTCL, BWCL and ICCL. Was also quite frequently B+ to A- rank on ladders such as PGTour or ICCup. All in all I have over 10 years of RTS experience competing at a high level, putting SC2 and SC:BW together.

As far as my career in SC2 goes, I’ve been to a ton of offline events during my time with Dignitas. Some of the most noteable ones are MLG, Dreamhack, ESWC, IEM. I’ve had one First place finish in offline events so far, which was Mutliplay UK i43 in August 2011. I’ve only done SC2 part time while studying so far though, which I personally believe has affected my results negatively, this year, 2012, I will be doing SC2 full time to give myself a real shot at becoming as good as I possibly can, and with that, hopefully be able to grab more offline titles.

Streaming
As I’m taking up SC2 full time, I’m planning to do a lot more streaming than before. I will try to keep it to a minimum of 4 days per week, these days are usually going to be Monday-Thursday. I will be commentating and analyzing my play as much as I can, but I cannot guarantee that I’ll do it every cast. I always take time to answer questions in the chat during, but mainly after the cast has ended as well. This usually means I hold a 5-10 minute Q&A session in chat after I’m done practicing for the night, where the viewers can ask anything they like, anything from strategy questions to what my favorite color is.

Coaching
Coaching is also something new that I’ll start doing due to me focusing on SC2 full-time. I’m qualified to coach any race from bronze up to mid masters level, as I’m capable of playing both Zerg and Protoss on these levels myself. If you are higher than mid masters, I can only offer you coaching if you’re a Terran player, seeing how that’s my main race.

My rate is currently 40$/hour and I’m available to coach anyone on the NA/EU server, I cannot offer coaching to anyone on Asian servers though.

If you want, the coaching session can be streamed as well, but this is entirely up to you and I won’t force anyone to have their coaching session streamed if they don’t want to.

How a lesson works and how to book one
The way I coach and what I focus on is pretty much up to you. I’ll ask you to send me replays of yourself to me, at most 5 and minimum 3. The replays are meant to display what you feel is holding you back the most, so they have to be picked out with that in mind. A long with the replays you are free to, in text of course, explain what you feel is your biggest obstacle to overcome or what your biggest problems are.

Before the lesson I’ll go through the replays, and take notes while watching them. These notes will be sent to you before the lesson so you kind of know what to expect in general. During the actual lesson we’ll go through the notes while watching 1-2 of your replays together, the remaining time of the lesson I’ll have you play someone your level, where I’ll basically live coach you and we’ll try to apply something basic while working on your flaws.
