TEAM DIGNITAS ASSIGNS KEY ROLES TO JØRGEN ‘CROMEN’ ROBERTSEN AND JESPER ‘TENZKI’ MIKALSKI IN MEN’S COUNTER STRIKE: GLOBAL OFFENSIVE TEAM

PHILADELPHIA, PA – MAY 23, 2017 – Team Dignitas, the renowned eSports franchise owned and managed by the Philadelphia 76ers, welcomes two additions to its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) lineup. Following their critical roles assisting the squad’s qualifications for the PGL Minor event in Bucharest, Romania, entry fragger, Jørgen “cromen” Robertsen from Notodden, Norway and second entry fragger, Jesper “tenzki” Mikalski from Ballerup, Denmark will move from substitute positions to full-time players.

Jesper “tenzki” Mikalski played for Team Dignitas from October 2015 to July 2016, making an important contribution during the 2016 Dreamhack Tours victory wherein Team Dignitas achieved a first place finish. Upcoming talent Jørgen “cromen” Robertsen showed poise and promise in the PGL Minor Qualifier. Both players are joined by Morten “zEVES” Vollan from Aurskog, Norway, who will be coaching the team to improve both communication and in-game strategy. “zEVES” played with Copenhagen Wolves, and most recently Norse, before switching to an active coaching role.

Team Dignitas’ men’s CS:GO squad is currently competing in ECS Season 3 and will make its LAN debut at the PGL Minor on June 15 in Bucharest, Romania.

“It is an honor to move into a starting position with a legendary organization like Team Dignitas and play alongside such experienced teammates. This is a perfect opportunity for me to show my potential to the team and the world,” said Jørgen “cromen” Robertsen. “Lately, our results have shown great improvement and we can be a top contender with more time to practice and synergize together. We are fortunate to have such incredible fans, leadership and sponsors supporting us.”

“Piecing together a successful team is an art,” said Team Dignitas President Michael “ODEE” O’Dell.  “Over my years in the eSports industry I find my greatest satisfaction and challenge is assembling talented lineups with the potential to become world champions. I welcome our new coach zEVES and we welcome back Tenzki.  Cromen is an obvious talent who will make a lot of noise moving forward.  I look forward to seeing this squad at the world’s most elite competitions.”

In September 2016, the Philadelphia 76ers acquired a controlling interest in eSports heritage team, Team Dignitas, which it fused with rising League of Legends powerhouse, Team Apex. This marked the first time an ownership group of a North American sports franchise acquired an eSports team. Team Dignitas currently fields teams in five of eSports’ largest and most popular games: League of Legends, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Overwatch, Heroes of the Storm and Smite. The Sixers utilize their business expertise, vast resources and connections, and focus on sports science’s best practices from across professional sports to bring alignment to the team’s business operations, advance corporate partnerships and create industry-leading eSports player development and wellness initiatives.
